Ingredients
Scale
12 large jalapeno peppers
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
12 thin slices prosciutto
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Put on gloves to protect your hands. Slice the jalapenos in half lengthwise. Use a small spoon or knife to carefully remove the seeds and white membranes. This reduces the heat.
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until the filling is smooth and well combined.
Spoon or pipe the cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeno half. Do not overfill.
Take one slice of prosciutto and wrap it around the center of each stuffed jalapeno half, securing the cheese filling.
Place the wrapped poppers seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the prosciutto is crisp and the cheese is bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a crispier prosciutto, you can place the baking sheet under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
You can prepare these poppers up to 24 hours ahead of time. Store them covered in the refrigerator and add about 5 minutes to the baking time if cooking directly from cold.
If you prefer an air fryer method, cook at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
