Make a gourmet pizza featuring salty prosciutto, creamy burrata, and a sweet honey drizzle. This recipe focuses on adding fresh ingredients after baking for the best texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pizza dough ball (about 12-14 inches, store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (low-moisture)
  • 4 ounces fresh burrata cheese, torn into pieces
  • 3 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup fresh arugula
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic glaze (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven and pizza stone or baking sheet to 500 degrees Fahrenheit (260 degrees Celsius) for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Lightly dust a pizza peel or baking sheet with cornmeal. Stretch or roll your pizza dough to your desired thickness, aiming for a 12 to 14-inch circle.
  3. Brush the dough lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, leaving a one-inch border for the crust.
  4. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Remove the pizza from the oven. Immediately arrange the torn pieces of burrata cheese evenly over the hot pizza. The residual heat will soften the burrata slightly.
  6. Drape the slices of prosciutto over the burrata and cheese.
  7. Scatter the fresh arugula over the top.
  8. Drizzle the honey evenly across the entire pizza. If using, add a light drizzle of balsamic glaze.
  9. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone and allow it to heat thoroughly.
  • Add the prosciutto and burrata after baking. Baking them makes the prosciutto tough and the burrata watery.
  • Use high-quality, fresh burrata for the best creamy texture.
  • If you prefer a sharper flavor contrast, use a fig jam spread thinly over the base instead of mozzarella before baking.
