Ingredients
Scale
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese, plus extra for topping
1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup milk (optional, for thinning)
Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
Add the sour cream, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix until just combined and smooth.
Stir in the crumbled bacon and most of the sliced green onions, reserving some for garnish.
If the dip is too thick, mix in milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Top with extra shredded cheddar cheese and the remaining green onions.
Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to blend. Serve cold with potato chips, crackers, or raw vegetables.
Notes
You can serve this dip warm. If you choose to heat it, bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes until heated through, then top with cheese and serve immediately.
For a richer flavor, use full-fat sour cream and cream cheese.
Cook bacon until very crisp before crumbling for the best texture in the dip.
