- 4 (6 ounce) cod fillets
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Place the cod fillets in the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Spoon the butter mixture evenly over the top of each cod fillet.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the fillets.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- To check for doneness, insert a fork into the thickest part of the fish; if it separates easily, the cod is ready.
- For extra flavor, you can broil the fish for the last 1-2 minutes until the top is lightly browned.
- Serve this cod with steamed asparagus or roasted potatoes.
