A recipe for making a creamy, sweet iced latte at home using brown sugar syrup and oat milk.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 shots espresso (or 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 1 cup oat milk
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Make the brown sugar syrup: Combine water and brown sugar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  2. Brew your coffee: Prepare two shots of espresso or brew 1/4 cup of very strong coffee. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the drink: Pour 2 tablespoons of the cooled brown sugar syrup into the bottom of a tall glass.
  4. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  5. Pour the cooled espresso or coffee over the ice.
  6. Top the drink with 1 cup of oat milk.
  7. Stir gently before drinking.

Notes

  • For a stronger syrup flavor, use a 1:1 ratio of sugar to water.
  • If you prefer cold brew, use 1/2 cup of cold brew concentrate instead of espresso.
  • For a vegan option, confirm your oat milk does not contain added non-vegan ingredients.
