Ingredients
Scale
2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, honey, minced garlic, dried thyme, salt, and pepper to create the glaze.
Brush half of the glaze mixture evenly over the tops of the two salmon fillets.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your fillets.
While the salmon bakes, pour the remaining glaze into a small saucepan. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly. Do not boil rapidly.
Remove the salmon from the oven. Brush the warm, thickened glaze over the cooked fillets before serving immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can sear the salmon skin-side down in an oven-safe skillet for 3 minutes before brushing with glaze and transferring to the oven.
Serve this salmon with roasted asparagus or a simple green salad.
If you prefer a thicker glaze, reduce the balsamic vinegar slightly more in the saucepan.
