Make fresh green beans irresistible with this quick and easy roasting method. These crispy green beans are coated in garlic and Parmesan cheese, perfect for a weeknight side or a Thanksgiving dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Place the trimmed green beans on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the green beans and toss them until they are evenly coated.
  4. Add the minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss again until the seasonings distribute well over the beans.
  5. Spread the green beans into a single layer on the baking sheet. This helps them roast instead of steam.
  6. Roast for 12 to 15 minutes.
  7. Remove the sheet from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the hot beans.
  8. Return the pan to the oven and roast for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the beans are slightly crispy.
  9. Serve immediately as a flavorful vegetable side dish.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, ensure your beans are dry before adding the oil.
  • You can substitute fresh garlic with 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder if needed.
  • This recipe works well for meal prep; store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
