Make this simple, savory appetizer featuring cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon and coated with garlic and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (14 ounce) package cocktail smoked sausages (Smokies)
  • 1 pound thin-cut bacon, cut in half crosswise
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top of the foil.
  2. Take one half-slice of bacon and wrap it around one cocktail sausage. Secure the bacon with a toothpick if necessary.
  3. Place the wrapped sausages on the wire rack.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  5. Sprinkle the cheese and spice mixture evenly over the bacon-wrapped sausages.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and cooked through.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Remove toothpicks before serving.

Notes

  • For a slow cooker method, arrange the wrapped sausages in a single layer in the slow cooker. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or on high for 1.5 to 2 hours. Drain excess grease before serving.
  • You can prepare the wrapped sausages ahead of time and store them covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Serve with a side of maple syrup or barbecue sauce for dipping.
