Ingredients
Scale
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced
4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
12 small flour tortillas
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Prepare the chips: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut each tortilla into 8 wedges.
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon for coating.
Brush both sides of the tortilla wedges lightly with melted butter. Toss the wedges in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until coated.
Arrange the wedges in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crisp and lightly golden. Let them cool completely.
Make the chocolate sauce: Place the chopped chocolate and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
Stir the vanilla extract and powdered sugar into the melted chocolate until combined.
In a medium bowl, gently fold the diced strawberries into the warm chocolate sauce. Do not overmix; you want the strawberries to remain chunky.
Chill the chocolate strawberry salsa for at least 15 minutes to allow the sauce to set slightly.
Serve the chilled salsa immediately with the cooled cinnamon chips for dipping.
Notes
If you prefer a quicker chip option, use store-bought cinnamon sugar pita chips or lightly sweetened graham crackers for dipping.
For a richer chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
If the salsa seems too thick after chilling, stir in one teaspoon of milk or cream to loosen it slightly.
