A recipe for a thick, vanilla-flavored protein smoothie bowl suitable for breakfast or post-workout recovery.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen banana slices
  • 1/2 cup frozen cauliflower florets (optional, for thickness)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sweetener to taste (e.g., 1 teaspoon maple syrup or stevia)

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen banana, frozen cauliflower, protein powder, almond milk, chia seeds, and vanilla extract into a high-powered blender.
  2. Start blending on low, using the tamper tool to push the ingredients down toward the blades.
  3. Add sweetener if you are using it.
  4. Blend slowly, stopping frequently to scrape down the sides, until the mixture is completely smooth and very thick. You want the consistency of soft-serve ice cream.
  5. Scoop the thick mixture into a bowl immediately.
  6. Add your desired toppings and serve right away.

Notes

  • For maximum creaminess, use only the minimum amount of liquid necessary to get the blender moving.
  • If you do not have a tamper, stop the blender often and stir the mixture with a spatula.
  • Use a high-quality, thick protein powder for the best texture.
  • If you need a dairy-free option, ensure your protein powder and milk are dairy-free.
