Make a dressing that tastes just like the signature creamy Italian dressing from Olive Garden at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground celery seed
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon anchovy paste (optional, for authentic flavor)

Instructions

  1. Combine the vegetable oil, water, white wine vinegar, sugar, salt, oregano, basil, parsley, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and celery seed in a blender.
  2. Add the Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and anchovy paste, if using.
  3. Blend on medium speed until the mixture is fully combined and slightly emulsified, about 30 seconds.
  4. Taste the dressing and adjust salt or sugar if needed.
  5. Pour the dressing into an airtight container.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • For the best texture, blend all ingredients together. Do not shake the dressing, as this will not achieve the correct consistency.
  • If you skip the anchovy paste, the flavor will still be very close, but slightly less savory.
  • This dressing thickens slightly when cold. If it becomes too thick, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before using.
