You asked for the famous sweet and creamy side dish from Chicken Salad Chick, and we have the perfect copycat recipe! This Grape Salad features juicy grapes coated in a rich cream cheese dressing, topped with crunchy pecans and brown sugar. It is simple to make and perfect for your next potluck or holiday gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds seedless grapes (a mix of red and green works best)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry your grapes. Place the dried grapes in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it is smooth.
  3. Add the sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix these ingredients until the dressing is completely smooth and creamy.
  4. Pour the creamy dressing over the grapes. Gently fold the dressing into the grapes until every grape is evenly coated. Be careful not to crush the fruit.
  5. Spread the grape mixture into a serving dish.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the chopped pecans and brown sugar. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the top of the salad.
  7. Cover the dish and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving. This allows the flavors to blend.

Notes

  • For the best texture, make sure your grapes are completely dry before mixing them with the dressing.
  • You can prepare this salad a day ahead of time. Keep it covered in the refrigerator.
  • If you want a lighter version, substitute half of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
  • This is a fantastic make-ahead salad for parties.
