Ingredients
Scale
2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed (about 1 inch)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Cut them into uniform 1-inch cubes. Uniform size helps them cook evenly.
Place the sweet potato cubes in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil.
Add salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder to the bowl. Toss well until all cubes are lightly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 3 minutes.
Place the seasoned sweet potato cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary for crispiness.
Air fry for 15 to 20 minutes, shaking the basket vigorously every 5 to 7 minutes to turn the cubes.
Check for doneness after 15 minutes. The cubes are ready when they are golden brown and tender when pierced with a fork.
Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can lightly spray the basket with cooking spray before adding the potatoes.
If you prefer a sweeter flavor, substitute the smoked paprika and garlic powder with 1 teaspoon of brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Soaking the cubes in cold water for 30 minutes before drying them completely can increase crispiness, but this recipe works well without soaking.
