Follow this simple guide to make perfectly crispy air fryer potatoes, suitable for cubes, wedges, or fries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large Russet potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the potatoes well. Cut the potatoes into uniform 1-inch cubes or desired shape (wedges or fries).
  2. Place the cut potatoes in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the potatoes and toss again until coated.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary for crispiness.
  6. Air fry for 15 minutes. Shake the basket vigorously.
  7. Continue to cook for another 5 to 10 minutes, shaking every 5 minutes, until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender inside.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes, then dry them completely before seasoning.
  • If using frozen potatoes, cook at 380°F (195°C) for 12 minutes, shake, and then cook for another 5-8 minutes until done.
  • For Garlic Parmesan flavor, toss cooked potatoes with 1 tablespoon melted butter and 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese immediately after removing them from the air fryer.
